Life's a joke, so pretend you get it and keep laughing 'til you die

"Dealers lose their crunk, riches back to rags
'edgers become drunks, with the bitches and the fags
"
"News" of their "pain" never ceases, as these jokes begin to bloom
Everyone's insane, falling to pieces and we've seemingly become the broom
Sweeping is our purpose, the trash of a country littered with hate
But this is just the surface, the skin of a paralytic political state
In a time we need a leader most, one who's just and true,
We're ridiculed to death with jokes, what's this broom to do?

This is about how news is so disgusting nowadays that it focuses more on entertainment and who's fuckin' who, or who's in rehab, or who's coming out, when important issues such as politics get biased stories put out to try and deceive people by not telling the whole story. Anyone who says "I read about it on the internet" and then expects a reaction that is anything besides being scoffed at and then ridiculed for their ignorance deserves any verbal lashing they receive. Focus on issues and the candidates stances on them.
This isn't like American Idol where you can vote for the hot chick with the great voice but shitty songwriting skills and wake up in the morning and not give a damn if you never see her again...and no, that was not a knock on Palin. Get all the facts first and then form an opinion. And please, make sure you actually get the facts. Otherwise, stick to your American Idol and leave politics to people who actually know what they're talking about and equally give a fuck about their future.

could be that i'm wrong, but... do we really have the power to choose our leaders? or others choose for us, and we're nothing but sad spectators of the same old show...that bores the hell out of everybody. I'm from Romania, in my country nobody gives a damn anymore... cuz we've seen it all, different faces, same old game, and yes, the joke's on us!

I think you understand it quite well, unfortunately. Nothing ever really changes, no one ever really lives up to their promises, and either way, our leader disappoints a whole bunch of people.
The main reason I wrote this was because of a few people with whom I am acquainted. They've decided to jump on board with John McCain and Sarah Palin, which is fine, they have their right to do that...but the problem is, they're basing all of this support they have on reasons that are false. They are always up for "debates" on subjects, not just politics, but when it comes down to it, it's not a debate, it's just them trying to force their views/opinions/religion on me and when that fails, they resort to personal insults and end up just getting pissed off.
I have no problem with people having their own beliefs and opinions on things, but when they begin to preach and then force it on me...I get annoyed.
But yeah, it was less about the election itself and more about the people who take it upon themselves to pass off false information to sway votes.

It may always be the same old boring show, but it seems that we only get to see a small bit of the show before the channel's changed. They only play the episodes that we've seen, never the ones we NEED to see.

what good would that do - to know all the insides and not have the power to actually CHANGE THINGS!!!

If we saw ALL that went on then maybe everything would make more sense. We could all understand why things have become the way they are and maybe insight on how to begin to change things ourselves. Just because it's the same old show doesn't mean that in time we couldn't figure out a way to cancel it and get our own show on the air. I know that there are some things that need not be seen or heard about, but maybe that's what's necessary.
Now obviously I was exaggerating a bit when I said nothing changes. Some things do change, but it seems like right now we're in need of quite a drastic change. We just have to hope that somehow someone follows through on their word and actually makes it happen.
Who knows...

Oh, and just to let you know, I've dealt with crazy people before so no worries there...however, I've never dealt with a crazy person who likes my stuff...so that worries me.
