It's not a love poem...It's a "Find True Love" poem

Walk beside me, or run behind me
But sure as hell, when you need to find me
Forget your ears and your eyes
let your heart lead you
Let go and see through disguise
let your mind concede to
the feelings you find deep inside
so let the tears squeeze through
eyelids shut tight and be wiped aside
by something that's real with the love that's so true
Run beside me, or walk behind me
But sure as hell, when you need to find me
Don't let your heart concede to
where your eyes, ears, and mind lead you
Unless your heart has seen through
to a mutual love that is surely true.
Run beside me, or walk behind me
But sure as hell, when you need to find me
Look through the tears and hang on to trust
Cast aside fears, and put aside lust
No matter how slow or quick you seem to be,
Sure as hell, you'll catch up and find me
whether walking beside me or running behind me
But sure as hell, just know that you'll find me.

The "me" in question here is not exactly a person wanting to be found, but it's true love personified waiting to be found. Don't force happiness or love. Let it happen, let it take its course.

Thanks! :)
Yeah, I had to unfortunately take a break from my project for a bit because I have been unable to take decent pictures for it with the weather being kinda nasty...
But yes, I figured love poems are so cliche, haha, so I wrote a poem less about the girl coming to me and succumbing to me sweeping her off her feet... And more about her not being swayed by just words, but more moved by her heart's desire...
or something like that, haha.
;)

And as always, thank you so much for reading and responding. You're too amazing! I always look forward to your comments. :)

I actually have looked through them quite a few times and I'm extremely jealous as well as impressed by your patience and dedication as well as attention to the realism in your art. :)
That's part of the reason why I'm going more toward a more novelty/cartoonish look to this project, haha. I'm the average spoiled American burnout, it's all about instant gratification and finishing it as quickly as possible with as little to none effort put into it. :P
Teasing of course...

You've got an extremely keen eye for shading as well as a very smooth and steadyhanded techinique. Very impressive. :)
And now that I've looked more in depth at some of your writings as well (and not just the pictures, because yet again, I'm a spoiled burnout and too lazy to read, hehe ;) )
I have an even deeper respect and sense of gratitude for your warm praises and kindness you've showed toward my work. :)
Compliments coming from someone as gifted and talented in the ways of visual as well as written art such as yourself is even more appreciated and flattering.

From what I could read (and what I could translate from what was not in English ;) )
It seems we've both experienced some of the same trials and troubles that a lot of the youth/young adults of today are struggling through; whether it be dealing with/accepting/overcoming heartbreak or the discomfort from desperately struggling to find our place in this life, or battling our seemingly utter hopelessness and futility while at the same time trying not to surrender to these feelings or emotions we are teased by on a daily basis in hopes that it will one day work out for the better.

Like I've said before, as long as one person reads what I write and can relate to or even understand what it means, maybe even spark deeper thought or curiousity, then it's worth it. :)

As a matter of fact, the girl who inspired me to write this was moved to tears by it, which honestly made my eyes even well up a bit. Just knowing that something I'd written had that much effect on someone was so emotional. And she still has no clue it was based on her, which made her reaction even more genuine and personal.

So again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and thank you even more for caring enough to respond. You're so amazing, you silly girl, you. ;)

And let's make sure that if you are the last unicorn, you're never allowed to fade into oblivion. You, my dear, are far too beautiful, thoughtful, and intelligent a creature to ever be forgotten in any way shape or form. Let's hope there's at least one more out there and that you find it, so you may keep such an amazing breed alive. And even if it feels as though all hope is lost and that you are the last of a dying breed and alone, please, never change my dear, never change. :)
Much love to you.

Even when you've paid enough
Been pulled apart or been held up
Every single memory of the good or bad
Faces of luck

Don't lose any sleep tonight
I'm sure everything will end up alright
You may win or lose

But to be yourself is all that you can do, yeah
To be yourself is all that you can do
